CCI announces the completion and grand opening of The Summit’s 32nd floor. The Summit, a private city club on the 30th, 31st & 32nd floors of the Bank of America Center in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma recently renovated their top floor and renamed it “The Penthouse at the Summit.” The floor was gutted and rebuilt in 15 weeks. The club opened the floor to the members Friday, November 20, 2009.
The Penthouse at The Summit serves the club as their a la carte dining room and bar lounge. Also included in the roughly 6,800 square foot floor are two private dining rooms and a game room. The Main Dining Room seats 76 and is flanked on either side by large windows overlooking downtown and the Arkansas River. A most unique arched ceiling simulating the flow of the river spans the dining room punctuated by four chandeliers. A large conditioned wine cabinet is the focal point of the room and is set between two granite topped display cabinets to each side.
The floor’s feel and furnishings are executed in a high end transitional style – not contemporary, but definitely not traditional. The bar lounge furnishings are set in groupings around a central fireplace and horseshoe shaped bar. An outdoor terrace – a fixture from years ago which has been off limits to the members – was placed back into use. A frameless glass railing offers some protection from the elements while not obstructing the view.
Two private dining rooms are included in the plan, one on each corner of the floor. The first is The Wine Room which seats up to 14, while The Vista Room seats 10. These rooms along with the Main Dining Room will be served by a new kitchen dedicated to the penthouse floor.
The Game Room spans the south east side of the floor and includes a unique pool table, a cigar humidor, and three flat screen TV’s. The room’s ventilation system is set-up to allow for smoking and the large humidor contains cigar lockers which can be utilized by the members.
Finishes throughout the floor include dark stained alder woodwork and cabinets, micro lined oak wood floor in the bar, and rich wall coverings throughout. The ceilings and light fixtures echo the transitional feel with the use of recessed gyp-board light coves and arched multi-layered painted reveals.
The furnishings are subtle and sophisticated. The use of natural fabrics, wood and leather is evident throughout the interior furnishings selected for the club.
