University of Texas Golf Club
Austin, Texas – October 2008: CCI announces the completion of The University of Texas Golf Club Clubhouse located in Austin, Texas. The new 24,000 square-foot Texas Hill Country Clubhouse facility offers first class amenities to its members and complements the existing 18-hole golf course and pavilion. The UT Golf Club is a private club located in the northwest Austin Steiner Ranch Development overlooking Lake Travis. The clubhouse features a large Porte Cochere with tapered Austin limestone columns and large gas lanterns made of copper and seeded glass. The large stained heavy timber beams and stone paving add strong finishing touches to this new facility.
The interiors of the clubhouse, designed by CCI in conjunction with Wilson & Associates of Dallas, features Austin limestone walls in both natural and honed finishes. The clubhouse includes large heavy timber fir trusses with high ceilings. The Living Room features an impressive vaulted tongue and grove wood stained ceiling with an iron chandelier. The walls are clad in honed limestone and the magnificent two-story stone fireplace rounds out this impressive space.
The Grill, Bar Lounge, and Exterior Covered Flag Stone Patios enjoy unparalleled views of the golf course, especially the adjacent 18th Green. The Bar Lounge is an intimate gathering space with an inviting stone fireplace, distressed oak floor, stained wood ceiling and heavy timber ceiling beams. A beautifully designed wood paneled bar with a Cyone granite top compliments the room and is set off by a back bar of glowing alabaster.
The expansive Stone Patio wraps around the golf course side of the clubhouse offering both covered and outdoor dining. The Patio is flanked by both an outdoor fireplace on one end and a more intimate circular fire pit adjacent to a small creek. The stone fireplace is set with an intimate conversational grouping of teak furniture.
The current temporary golf shop and snack bar building will be remodeled into the club’s fitness facility which will be outfitted with state-of-the-art aerobic and weight training equipment. In the clubhouse, the Men’s and Women’s locker rooms finishes throughout include distressed knotty Alder paneled lockers, vaulted beamed ceilings, skylights, granite counter tops and both steam and rain showers. The 2,000 square foot Golf Shop with custom “Texas” themed features includes custom fixtures with leather tops, iron accents, natural cowhide floor coverings and large windows overlooking the course.
Many of the same exterior finishes continue throughout the interior of the clubhouse, including the Austin stone walls and archways, heavy timber beams and trusses, stone floors, and hand finished plaster walls. The interior trim and cabinets are stained Alder while the doors are a more rustic fir. Large windows are present in every room to allow for both an abundance of natural light and to provide an unparalleled view of the course and Hill Country beyond.
Furnishings are based on a Texas Hill Country feel. The use of natural fabrics, wood, and leather is evident throughout the interior furnishings selected for the Club. Also, utilized, but in a discrete manner is the University of Texas Longhorn Logo to show the Club’s tie to the University and their golf teams.
