 When CCI was asked by Terrabrook Communities to design a major addition and renovation to ArrowCreek Country Club, several key issues were quickly discerned. First and foremost was to stay true to the club’s original design and use of comfortable natural elements, but improve on both. Secondly, was to maximize the views from inside the club. When members or guest drive up to the porte cochere, they have a panoramic view looking down on the Reno skyline. All the dining areas, the lounge and the bar look out on the Arnold Palmer Legends Course and the Challenge Course designed by Fuzzy Zoeller.
The interior design of the club includes extensive uses of richly colored slate,stained millwork beams and ceilings and stone fireplaces with rough sawn mantels. The client’s request for, “a more clubby atmosphere than they previously had” are reinforced with the use of country English reproduction furniture. All upholstery is either leather or fabrics made with natural fibers. Distinctive decorative lighting is used in every room of the club. The chandeliers and sconces designs for the most part mimic the surrounding forest. They are made with such materials as rusted iron, alabaster and rawhide.
