CCI is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of the Winstar Casino - Golf Clubhouse in Thackerville, Oklahoma. Located an easy one hour drive from Dallas/Fort Worth, the Winstar Casino is a major attraction for area and with the addition of their new D.A. Wiebring 18 hole course, the casino has become a destination for North Texas and Oklahoma. The new clubhouse was designed to complement the course and also serve the Casino for large functions such as golf outings, weddings, and business meetings.
The 7,000 sq.ft. clubhouse plan contains a Bar Lounge/Grill space, Golf Shop, Banquet Room, and locker room facilities. Located on a hill overlooking the course, the clubhouse and adjacent 6,000 sq.ft. Cart Storage Facility reflect the natural materials on the site. Stone Gables accent the clubhouse and bronze standing seam metal canopies shade the front entry and banquet porches. The Cart Building reflects the materials of the clubhouse.
Inside, a wide entry foyer leads to the Golf Shop, Grill, and Locker Rooms. CCI designed this compact and efficient floor plan to allow for labor saving operations. Complementing the Dining Facilities in the nearby casino, the grill is open to both golfers and the general public visiting the casino. The full height wood paneled walls and granite bar give the grill a distinctive private club feel..
In addition to the grill space, a 150 seat banquet room is located within the clubhouse. Large expanses of windows allow for spectacular views of the 18th Green, 9th Green, and the course’s large lake feature. Exterior covered porches span both the grill and banquet rooms. An elevated lawn area is also adjacent to the Banquet porch to allow for outdoor dining and larger functions. The Banquet room is wired with audio/video equipment for business functions. The equipment includes a ceiling mounted projector, retractable screen, and speakers throughout the ceiling. Custom Red Oak fixtures and a large Granite attendant’s counter anchor the Golf Shop space. A bay window allows the shop staff a 180 degree view of the course, practice facility, and staging area.
Restroom and locker facilities include stained wood cabinets with stone countertops and Victorian bronze fixtures. Day lockers are provided by the club and the locker area includes a shower with a dressing room area.
Interior finishes for the clubhouse include rich Red Oak stained wall panels and large moldings. Custom light fixtures are included in the Entry Foyer, Grill, and Banquet room. The natural feel of the Red/Brown Stone on the building exterior is carried through the Club’s interior color palette including the carpet, draperies, and tile work.
The Casino and Golf Club is operated by Chickasaw Enterprises, who are currently planning to replace the existing casino structure with a New Casino/Hotel Facility, making the Winstar Casino the 4th largest in the world. Plans are also in the works for a second 18 hole course adjacent to the new course and clubhouse. Jimmy Clayton, former University of Texas Golf Team coach and Winstar’s Consultant for the new course was pleasantly surprised by the high level of finish out and ease of operation designed into the clubhouse by CCI. Mr. Clayton notes ″CCI did an outstanding job in working with us to be sure we have the clubhouse that will meet our needs now and in the future. The exterior design was better than any of us could imagine and the interior design has a classy comfortable feel. We have had a lot of compliments on the clubhouse.”
